The short version
Twinclone is a desktop application that syncs files between your computer and your own Google Drive. Your files, your file names, and your Google credentials never pass through our servers — we don't have servers that touch your data. Syncing happens directly between your computer and Google.
What the app stores, and where
- Your files stay on your computer and in your Google Drive. Twinclone moves them between the two; it sends them nowhere else.
- Google sign-in tokens are stored in your operating system's secure credential store (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, or the Linux Secret Service) on your machine only.
- The sync index (a local database of file names, sizes, and checksums that makes syncing fast) lives in your user data folder on your machine only.
- Diagnostics and logs are written locally and are never transmitted. If you contact support, you choose what to share.
Google user data
Twinclone accesses Google Drive using Google's official API, with your explicit consent through Google's sign-in flow. Its use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: Drive data is used only to provide the file-syncing functionality you asked for; it is not used for advertising, not sold, and not read by humans. You can revoke Twinclone's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
Telemetry
The app contains no analytics or tracking. Resource metrics (memory and CPU use) are recorded to a local file so you can inspect the app's behavior; they are not sent to us.
This website
twinclone.app is a static site hosted on Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics scripts. Cloudflare may process standard server logs (IP addresses, request URLs) to deliver the site.
Purchases
When paid licenses become available, payments will be processed by a merchant-of-record payment provider. They handle your payment details under their own privacy policy; we receive only what's needed to issue your license (such as your email address).
